A Systems Administrator, who will work within the Project and Programme Delivery (PPD) department to configure, maintain and support systems on behalf of the team and the wider Business. In this busy and fast paced role, you will play a key part in providing system administration and technical support to the wider department. Utilising your well-developed systems experience, you will contribute to the overall continuous improvement of the department. This is a great opportunity to support and learn from a well-established technical team containing extensive Business and industry knowledge. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of Jira System including Cloud and Data Centre.
  • Experience of Confluence including Data Centre and SharePoint administration.
  • Understanding of system administration, maintenance and release planning.
  • Up to date RedHat and Ubuntu Linux administration experience.
  • Exposure to SQL Server Reporting Services report development.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI development reporting and sourcing data from a variety of data sources.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, including pivot charts, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of web technology and development environments including Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, SQL Server 2019, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS and HTML.

Main Responsibilities

  • Configuring, maintaining and providing technical support for the Jira and Confluence applications operated by the Business.
  • Designing, developing and supporting Jira project configurations to facilitate the changing needs of Business processes.
  • Supporting the regular maintenance duties including operating system and application patching to PPD environments, against agreed maintenance schedules.
  • Developing and managing permission models, ensuring that access to applications is controlled appropriately.
  • Providing internal support for Business users, responding quickly to questions and issues should they occur.
  • Developing and delivering real time reporting using both PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to management and to end users, using multiple data sources.
  • Producing repeatable and ad hoc management information associated with the delivery portfolios and delivery lifecycles, both project and software, including key performance indicators information.
  • Performing end-to-end system testing as a part of changes or upgrades to systems and applications.
  • Providing technical consultations as needed and liaising with other teams within the technology domain.
  • Supporting the Senior Project Systems Administrator in implementing process improvements, assisting in designing platform upgrades and changes to systems as well as functional testing.
