Are you a technically credible engineering professional with strong commercial instincts? We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing UK specialist in bespoke drainage and pumping systems and we are seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead its product strategy, interface directly with clients, and ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and tailored to customer needs. This is a pivotal role acting as the technical authority between sales, engineering, and delivery, ideal for someone with infrastructure or water industry experience who enjoys variety, autonomy, and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to technical expert for our client’s product range – from packaged pump stations to custom infrastructure systems
  • Attend client meetings to understand technical requirements and advise on solutions
  • Define and maintain product specifications, documentation, drawings, and compliance
  • Support commercial teams with bid preparation, pricing strategies, and risk assessments
  • Monitor market needs and competitor offerings to shape future product development
  • Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and buildability are baked into all solutions
  • Work closely with suppliers, internal designers, and delivery teams to ensure alignment

Requirements What We’re Looking For:

  • Engineering background (ideally civil, mechanical, or M&E)
  • Experience in water, wastewater, drainage, or utilities infrastructure highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, credible in front of clients and internal stakeholders
  • Familiar with packaged pump systems, drainage design, or infrastructure projects highly desirable
  • Able to balance technical detail with commercial impact
  • Comfortable leading conversations from concept through to delivery
