Are you a hands-on regulatory professional with line management or mentoring experience ready to take the next step in your career? Do you want to be part of a company where you’re not just another employee, but part of a growing family that values work-life balance and personal well-being? The company offers a 35 hour working week with reduced summer hours to 30 hours to help with school holidays or allow you to enjoy the sun (business need dependent).
We are partnering with a fast-growing chemical business that has nearly doubled in size over the past 12 months – expanding from 50 to 85 employees and forecasting a further 15 hires this year. With that kind of growth, opportunity is abundant – and this role is a key part of it. They are looking for a Senior Regulatory Specialist with team leading experience, or even a Regulatory Manager depending on your experience, to join the team. You’ll be stepping into a meaty role such as setting up software but have a team around you to take on the hands-on approach. This will have strategic input, line management responsibility, and the opportunity to shape the future of regulatory compliance in a business that services a global customer base across specialty chemicals.
The Role:
This is not just another compliance job. You’ll bring your strong background in SDS authoring, classification, and regulatory frameworks (CLP, REACH, DGSA, IATA), and shift into a leadership role where you’ll coordinate a team, provide direction, and help be front facing with suppliers, handling any technical questions from the team. In the next 12 months, this role is expected to evolve into Regulatory Manager or offer it from the get-go, offering real career progression and a chance to build something impactful.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading stewardship procedures for global chemical and environmental compliance.
- Managing SDS and labelling compliance processes and systems.
- Ensuring REACH and CLP compliance across the product lifecycle.
- Advising on transport of dangerous goods and liaising with key suppliers and customers.
- Supporting sustainability and environmental reporting efforts.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Technical, Commercial, and Logistics teams.
- Setting up necessary systems and dealing with technical questions from the team, allowing them to remain hands-on.
What You’ll Bring:
- A background in chemistry or a related scientific discipline (BSc minimum).
- Previous hands-on experience with SDS authoring, chemical classification, REACH, and CLP.
- Proven ability to manage or mentor others, with line management experience.
- Experience in a regulatory role within the chemical sector, with global exposure being a bonus.
- Adaptability, self-drive, and an eagerness to grow into a more senior leadership role.
Why Join?
- A business that promotes a lifestyle, not just a job.
- A true focus on flexibility, work-life balance, and employee well-being.
- A collaborative and friendly company culture – people love working here.
- Massive scope for career development as the company continues its impressive growth.
