Summary of Role:
As a Product Manager – Lending, you will be responsible for supporting the banks’ lending product range over the full product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, sale and closure. You’ll have a good understanding of the lending market and will represent the voice of the customer at all touch points in the customer journey. You will support the team as the banks first line of defence ensuring all products and processes are compliant with all relevant legislation, regulation and industry best practice.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Support the Director, Lending Products to shape the product strategy and roadmap for the banks’ Lending portfolio.
- Know the customers and their problems and identify opportunities to improve their experience.
- Support of the end-to-end product journey for the banks suite of lending products.
- Track and analyse performance and incorporate key learnings into your product optimisation strategies.
- Define KPIs, analyse the impact of product features and provide insightful recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support product compliance with all relevant legislation, regulation and best practice.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure delivery and optimisation of all operational forecasting, processes, systems, infrastructure and resources.
- Identify, validate and own business case and set clear requirements for strategic and tactical product changes/launches to drive growth, profitability and optimise costs.
- Participate in internal and external governance forums providing regular, accurate insight and recommendations.
- Work closely with credit and risk to build and enhance policy and procedures to support balanced and optimal lending growth.
- Apply risk assessment and management principles to assess compliance and operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, to pre-empt any issues and minimise or remove risks.
- Collaborate with the current account product leader and digital channels lead in support of the wider customer proposition across current accounts, open banking and digital banking channels.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Relevant experience in a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience of UK regulated mortgage lending.
- Knowledge of commercial, SME and real estate banking sectors advantageous.
- Experience working at pace in an iterative Agile environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Highly numerate with strong excel skills.
- Demonstrable customer focus.
- Demonstrable digital capability.
- Commercially astute and articulate.
- Up-to-date understanding of regulatory environment.
- Highly collegiate with a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
