Our client is an international global distributor of Ingredients and Food Stuffs and is seeking an experienced Logistics Associate for their office in London. This is a hybrid role. The Logistics Associate will join a dynamic and fast paced Supply Chain/Logistics team.

The Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Processing import, export and cross trade operations from start to finish including processing shipping documents, sending customs clearance instructions and delivery of goods and documents to the warehouse/client.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import transactions via the e filing system.
  • Liaise with the forwarders and warehouses to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations and procedures.
  • Handling Non-Conformances.
  • Occasional on-site inspection of warehouses.
  • Processing invoices from warehouses, forwarders and other suppliers.
  • Any other items that might arise on ad hoc basis.

The successful candidate must have at least 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a trading company in the food industry. Fluency in English is essential, knowledge of another European language, especially Spanish, is a plus. A knowledge of Incoterms and to have intermediate Excel and PowerPoint. Competencies will be in International Trade/Logistics (Shipping, X-Trades, Exports, Imports), and have experience working with Shipping Lines and Forwarding agents in different modes of transportation (Sea and Air). A knowledge of Customs Clearances procedures within the UK and EU. Solid knowledge of Exports to different countries (Middle East, Africa, South America). Knowledge of Import regulations within the Food industry and Port Health requirements. Dangerous Goods Knowledge advantageous.
