Devonshire Hayes are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Field IT Support Technician to join my client’s team on a permanent basis. Covering sites across Yorkshire (Brighouse, Elland, Halifax etc), you’ll provide on-site IT support to ensure systems are operational, secure, and effective for end-users. This is a hands-on role requiring a good mix of technical ability and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Travel to various customer or company sites across Yorkshire to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Set up, configure, and support desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, incidents, and solutions.
  • Liaise with central IT teams to escalate complex issues where necessary.
  • Ensure all work complies with company standards and security protocols.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an IT Support or similar technical support role providing installation and configuration of hardware & software.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, basic networking, and common hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with Active Directory, remote desktop tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage travel schedules effectively.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car (mileage paid for travel between sites).
  • Must be based in or willing to travel extensively across Yorkshire.

Desirable:

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications) are advantageous.
