Our client, Stockport Council is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join their Connected Carers Team. Fantastic payrate of £35 per hour!

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Managing a varied caseload of cases, including complex ones, and potentially mentoring other colleagues.
  • Conducting thorough assessments to determine if a potential connected person placement is in the best interests of the child.
  • Evaluating the suitability of connected persons as foster carers, including assessments in court settings.
  • Providing ongoing support, advice, and guidance to connected carers to help them create a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for the child.
  • Creating and implementing support plans tailored to the specific needs of the child and the connected carer.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong, professional relationships with connected carers, children, and their families.
  • Facilitating and managing contact between the child and their birth parents, while balancing competing relationships and identifying potential difficulties in the future.
  • Ensuring the child's emotional, social, and educational needs are met within the connected care setting.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 3 year's experience working as a Qualified social worker.
