Turner Lovell are supporting a leading EPC contractor delivering cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the UK. We're seeking experienced Electrical Installation Technicians to join fast-paced project sites focusing on the physical installation and electrical integration of critical grid-scale assets. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to Scotland's energy transition, working with a contractor that boasts a strong project pipeline and the chance for repeat engagements.
This role suits individuals with solid site-based electrical installation experience, particularly those who have worked on BESS, substations, or utility-scale renewable projects.
Key Responsibilities- Power & Control Wiring: Install and terminate high-voltage and low-voltage cabling between batteries, PCS/inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
- Conduit & Cable Tray Systems: Install structured routes for control and power cables to ensure clean, compliant site layouts.
- Containment Installation: Install electrical containment systems including cable trays, ladder racks, trunking, and conduit to ensure safe, tidy, and regulation-compliant cable routing.
- Grounding & Bonding: Implement robust earthing systems in line with safety and regulatory standards.
- Equipment Installation: Battery enclosures/racks, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), MV/LV Transformers and Switchgear, Disconnects, breakers, and fuses.
- Valid CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
- Strong electrical installation background (preferably in utility-scale BESS, renewables, or substations)
- Comfortable interpreting electrical schematics and layout drawings
- Able to work collaboratively with site supervisors, HV teams, and commissioning engineers
- Commitment to safety and site compliance protocols
