HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist / Expert Witness

Locations across the South Coast of England

As a Clinical Psychologist you will be responsible for conducting psychological assessments and producing high-quality medico-legal reports for Personal Injury legal cases.

The role involves assessing clients based on a pre-defined Pro-Forma and preparing detailed reports for legal proceedings. You will be expected to work independently while collaborating with the wider team who will assist in the report writing process.

This role requires travel into a clinic which will be booked by the company nearby. We have access to 250 locations across England & Wales. Remote work will also be available after an initial period.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of clients involved in legal cases (predominantly Personal Injury cases) using evidence-based methods.
  • Utilise a range of psychometric tools and clinical interview techniques to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects relevant to each case.
  • Ensure all assessments are tailored to the specific legal context, addressing the needs of solicitors, barristers, and courts.
  • Completing a Pro-forma which will be returned to Medical Secretaries who will prepare the report and return for validation.
  • Ensure reports are written in line with legal standards, addressing the specific instructions provided by solicitors or other legal professionals.
  • Provide an independent, unbiased opinion in your reports, adhering to the highest ethical standards in clinical psychology.

Essential Requirements

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments and preparing reports.
  • Prior experience in medico-legal work, including report writing for Personal Injury, Crime, Immigration, and Family Law cases.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including those with mental health disorders, trauma, and cognitive impairments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when presenting evidence in legal settings.
