Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Services Location: Peak District, High Peak (within commuting distance from Stockport, Macclesfield, Buxton) Salary: £14.35 – £15.43 per hour (depending on experience) * £70.50 per sleep-in (typically 6/month) * Excellent benefits and paid training Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins on a rota About Arnfield Care Arnfield Care has been transforming the lives of young people since 1997 through high-quality residential care and on-site education. We’re now hiring a Senior Residential Support Worker to help lead shift teams and deliver meaningful, therapeutic care to children aged 11–17 with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. What You’ll Be Doing This is more than a job — it’s a chance to make a lasting impact. As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll: * Lead and supervise staff on shift, setting the tone and ensuring consistency in care * Build strong, trusting relationships with young people in your home * Support daily routines, education, social activities, and emotional regulation * Help manage risk, behaviours, and crises using trauma-informed approaches * Work closely with management, social workers, schools, and health professionals * Ensure that reports, logs, and safeguarding documentation are completed accurately * Take part in short residential trips, where appropriate, and contribute to holistic care planning About You We’re looking for someone who brings experience, resilience, and real empathy. You’ll need: * Previous experience in a children’s residential setting (or similar support environment) * Demonstrable leadership experience (e.g. leading shifts or mentoring others) * Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) * Flexibility to work across a varied rota including weekends and sleep-ins * A manual UK driving licence (essential) * A clear Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) We especially value candidates who bring lived experience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
