East of Scotland Growers Ltd (ESG) are a farmer owned cooperative specialising in the growing of vegetable and flax crops. Our head offices are in Cupar (Fife), with members farms spanning through the Scottish Borders, Berwickshire, Lothians, Fife, Angus and Perthshire – along with additional crop production in SE England, Europe and North Africa on non-members farms. We are a progressive organisation with the focus of ESG producing the highest quality crops, which are processed and marketed through our group that comprises of ESG Drysdale (vegetables) and ESG Natural Fibres (flax). As one of the major UK retail suppliers, our vegetable crop portfolio consists of broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, swede, Tenderstem, cabbages, spring greens, kale, leeks, onions, carrots and asparagus. A more recent development is our flax crop and as the leading UK grower we will see the establishment of our processing facility in 2025, which will result in a significantly increased production area. We are currently recruiting for two individual members of staff to join the agricultural team. We are seeking a fully qualified agronomist and a further crop manager to assist all day to day field functions. Agronomy, harvest management, production planning and customer communications are all integral to the team functions. These positions would suit a proactive individual with an excellent grasp of crop production,good communication skills, a strong work ethic with a drive to succeed and a passion for working in this industry with farmers in an organisation that focusses on delivering sustainable returns to the farm gate. A full UK driving licence is essential in both roles as extensive travel is required across the growing regions. BASIS and FACTS are desired but not essential as training can be provided.
