The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of a Grounds Maintenance Operative within a housing environment, Our client is one of the largest Social |Housing providers in the South of England, they are ambitious and have a huge 5 year plan which we are seeking a GMO to assist with, their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones creating vibrant, thriving communities.
The Role:
- Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates
- Responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges AND soft landscaping/minor tree work
- Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out
- To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works
- Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
- Assisting all other trades as and when required ensuring that residents/customers receive a high-quality service
The Candidate needs:
- Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with experience of Grounds Maintenance.
- Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical & hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations
- An understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly when needed
- To behave in a courteous and professional manner
- Great communication skills
- A clean Driving Licence (with towing ability DESIRABLE)
- Practical amenity horticultural knowledge & experience
- PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
- NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
SUMMARY:
This is a 2 MONTH, full time role, working a 40 hour week over 5 days.
The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
