Our client is a well-established Managed Service Provider near Leamington Spa, currently looking to add an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to their growing technical team.
About the Role:
As a key member of the support function, you will be instrumental in maintaining seamless IT operations across both internal and client systems. Working alongside the field support team, you will be responsible for resolving a wide range of technical issues and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and manage incoming service tickets via the helpdesk system and direct calls.
- Deliver 2nd and some 3rd line technical support for incidents and service requests.
- Carry out system maintenance tasks, including operating system updates and antivirus monitoring.
- Ensure all work aligns with internal IT policies and complies with relevant security protocols.
- Support data recovery processes and manage both on-premises and cloud-based backups.
- Create and maintain up to date documentation, including diagrams and knowledgebase articles.
What You’ll Need:
- Solid experience working with desktops, laptops, and multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Hands-on expertise in virtualisation tools such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and TCP/IP.
- Confident troubleshooting issues across the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and day to day user account management.
- Experience in general server admin, including permissions, file shares, and security protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Driver, ideally with your own car.
