Acorn by Synergie are looking to recruit Kitchen Assistants for the Magor area. Working Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm daily. Must have previous catering/kitchen experience and completed Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.

Responsibilities –

• Cleaning utensils, food preparation equipment, other tools, and kitchen floors
• Prepping ingredients for dishes
• Washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
• Cooking ingredients according to directions received from chef
• Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
• Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
• Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
• Observing cooking times and correct temperatures
• Ensuring that food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
• Minimum level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Able to understand and communicate in English at a working level (spoken and written)
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Able to remain calm and effective in a high-pressure environment
• Flexible and willing to support other roles or duties as needed
