We are partnered with an established and fast-growing digital solutions provider who are seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join their London-based team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building and maintaining the company’s scalable cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking tech environment working on platforms that support large-scale, high-traffic applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- AWS Cloud Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using key AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, EFS, Elasticache, etc.)
- Manage cloud networking, security configurations, and availability zones
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation
- Use tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, and Docker to automate infrastructure deployment
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery
- Security & Governance
- Enforce AWS security best practices including IAM roles, policies, and encryption
- Manage WAF configurations, compliance requirements, and security event monitoring
- Collaborate with internal teams on policies and standards
- Database & Performance Optimization
- Oversee RDS management, backup strategies, failover configurations, and performance tuning
- Optimize caching using Elasticache to boost system performance
- Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
- Build observability frameworks using CloudWatch, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Elasticsearch
- Implement proactive alerting and escalation processes to maintain uptime and responsiveness
- Develop logging strategies that offer deep system insights
- Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with development, QA, and product teams to support delivery pipelines and deployment readiness
- Contribute to the design of scalable and fault-tolerant systems from early development stages
Ideal Experience Required:
- Solid experience in a DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure role with a strong emphasis on AWS
- In-depth knowledge of AWS core services and cloud-native design principles
- Proficiency in Terraform and/or CloudFormation for infrastructure management
- Strong scripting capabilities (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Experience with Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security protocols, and compliance standards
- Hands-on experience with modern monitoring/logging platforms
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field (or equivalent work experience)
