Our organisation is rooted in the principles of social justice, empowerment, and co-production. As a Safeguarding Manager, you will play a key role in upholding these values and ensuring that our safeguarding approach is both effective and compassionate.

Are you experienced in Safeguarding leadership, or a qualified social worker with a passion for safeguarding and a commitment to social justice? Join our team as a Safeguarding Manager and lead systemic safeguarding improvements across our diverse services. We are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding practice and to make a real difference in the lives of those we support.

As the designated safeguarding lead (DSL), you will act as the main source of support, advice, and expertise for safeguarding within the organisation. You will ensure consistency of safeguarding procedures across services, lead safeguarding peer reviews, and support local designated safeguarding leads with complex cases.

In this strategic leadership role, you will:

  • Demonstrate effective leadership to embed safeguarding best practices within all teams.
  • Advise and support the senior team in developing and establishing the organisation’s approach to safeguarding.
  • Lead and coordinate peer reviews of safeguarding practice.
  • Create, develop, and implement a Safeguarding Improvement Plan for the organisation.
  • Ensure that safeguarding and child protection standards are maintained by all colleagues.
  • Monitor our approach and ensure that all team members are aware of their safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Encourage a culture of listening to young people and adults, taking into account their wishes and feelings.
  • Represent the organisation at external meetings and liaise with outside agencies and statutory bodies.

We value continuous professional development and reflective practice. As a Safeguarding Manager, you will have access to reflective supervision, peer learning opportunities, and the chance to contribute to policy development and influence safeguarding strategy at a senior level.

We particularly welcome applications from qualified social workers with experience in safeguarding leadership. The ideal candidate will have a relevant health/social care professional qualification (e.g., Social Work) and a proven track record in safeguarding practice.

In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. If an offer of work is accepted, YMCA Trinity Group will facilitate these checks on behalf of our staff and volunteers via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
