My retained client is seeking a competent Head Chef who is motivated and has a real passion for food. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef. This new venue is set in a beautiful Essex town and is conveniently accessible from Colchester, Braintree and Chelmsford. This establishment has a 50 cover restaurant and a small outside seating area for the summer. They will be open for breakfast, lunch and early evening meals.
The restaurant serves seasonal food with great service, whilst retaining a traditional British menu. The style is traditional British cuisine with everything made in-house. The kitchen makes the most of the fresh local produce available with particular attention to food provenance, and is always busy.
As the successful Head Chef, you will be responsible for all menu planning, stock taking and training. You must be passionate about your role and be willing to give 110%. The ideal Head Chef will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working at Head Chef level in a fresh food establishment; you will be responsible for high levels of hygiene control and health and safety throughout the department; you will be responsible for staff development and ensuring high levels of catering service and you will be reporting directly into the line manager. The Head Chef must be highly passionate, have excellent food cost controls and the ability to continually raise standards.
