Job title: Product Support Engineer – Diesel Engines. (Field-based) Job location: Salisbury. Salary: £48,024 per annum + overtime + on call pay. Hours: 45 hours per week – an element of flexibility will be required. Shifts: Monday to Friday(permanent nights) Duration: Permanent. Start date: immediate Client Summary: Leading manufacturer and front-line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment. Job Purpose: Great opportunity to join an internationally renowned Rolling Stock company on a permanent basis. The key aim of the role is to provide maintenance on diesel engines for one of our client’s customers based in the Salisbury area, you will attend breakdowns in the company van, diagnose the issue and through fault finding and diagnostics provide solutions. The role will involve a degree of flexibility in regard to hours will be required, an element of on call will be required (every other weekend). Principle Responsibilities & Accountabilities: * Conduct appropriate modification programmes on Company products. * First line dealing with support questions and advice made by customers * Driving to breakdown and diagnosing the problem. * Consulting with internal stakeholders and customers to get the right resolution for both parties * Using knowledge of mechanical engineering to close out claims as soon as possible The successful candidate: * Will ideally have a minimum of 3 years mechanical experience working on large vehicles and their components – ideally Rolling stock. * Hold an NVQ Level 3 in some form of mechanical discipline. * Have a full clean driving license. * Engine fault finding experience. The package: * Basic nights salary is £48,024 per annum for a 45-hour week. * O/t is at a flat rate. (Anything over 45 hours). * On call pay is minimum of 3 hours pay. * 28 days holiday. * 4% pension contribution by employer. * Company van, mobile, iPad etc all provided by company. * All expensive, heavy duty or niche tooling provided. * Fuel card + expenses.
