We are working with a Global Sciences Organisation with around 6000 users that is increasingly engaged in the world of analytics, based here in London who is looking for a Head of Business Analytics to start in June for 12-15 months. This position is wide-reaching and will work across the entire Life Sciences division to help build engagement with their analytical tools and to develop the analytical maturity of the division.
The function of the Business Analytics team is to provide stakeholders across the division with accurate, interpretable, and timely analytical solutions from the central analytics platforms (Snowflake, dbt and Tableau), which in combination with high-quality commercial insight will support evidence-based operational and strategic decision making.
Job description:
- Lead and mentor a team of 7 (BI Developers and Analytics Business Partners)
- Be responsible for a portfolio of activities and delivering results supporting key functional teams across the business unit (Finance, Sales, Product Management, Operations & Manufacturing)
- Contribute to delivery of business unit specific projects, working alongside project managers to ensure analytics inputs are timely and requirements and expectations are well defined
- Engage with and support stakeholders to encourage adoption and evolution of existing analytics
- Collaborate with Analytics Centre of Excellence and Group Data Architecture teams to encourage effective system processes to enable the success of analytical data.
- Deliver new analytical solutions as defined by business to drive effective, data-driven decision making, from requirements gathering to report design.
What are they Looking For:
- Strong academic background, ideally with a Computer Science or IT degree/qualification, similar Analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate a good balance between technical expertise and commercial business awareness, with experience in end-to-end project delivery
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, technology or Sciences Company
- Extensive analytics function/management experience
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Tableau, with strong SQL experience (experience with dbt and Snowflake ideal but not preferable)
- Confidence when collaborating with stakeholders to deliver analytical solutions is essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in end-to-end analytical solution design and development
- Passion for handling, analysing, and transforming large, complex data sets into workable information sets
