Manpower are currently seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements. The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects. The role holder will support delivery of these innovation projects to market. This role ensures global and local formulation and packaging solutions are delivered efficiently into the European supply chains and to our customers. This job focuses on supporting innovation project managers on all aspects of large, high/medium risk projects.
The role will coordinate formulation work, implementing formulation changes across a brand portfolio of projects. The role will also support the implementation of the correct packing solutions into these projects with the support of our packaging team.
Key Accountabilities- Support and assist the Manager/Technical Project Leader on all aspects of project management working across multiple projects. Will deputise for the Manager/Technical Project Leader when required.
- Ensure regions/countries receive good levels of project support and communication.
- Manage innovation projects, with support, as global/regional TPL on small/low risk project(s).
- Contribute to the completion of project management technical documentation, including toolboxes (TTDs/PETs), by gathering cross-functional and regional/country input.
- Ensure all project risks are clearly identified and highlighted within the project team and update stakeholders when required.
- Input formulation information to decision gate documents.
- Prepare relevant documentation for laboratory technicians such as batch sheets, gassing sheets, results templates for capturing data in relevant Unilever software.
- Where trained, check and sign off gas sheets. May also co-ordinate through others where appropriate.
- Formulation contact for one or more projects, providing information to other functions/regions/countries when project specific questions/issues arise.
- Use creative problem solving for both formulation issues and project issues overcoming both major and minor barriers.
- Ensure packaging is compatible with formulation and customer packaging requirements for the PC6 Business unit.
- Ensure packaging solutions meet regulatory, sustainability and legislation and meet best practice guidelines.
- Manage Packaging workstream activities from Primary and Secondary packaging through to palletisations. This includes work with internal and external partners to complete tasks.
- Completion of code summaries (New or Change) to ensure that formulation and packaging materials can be ordered against and safe, accurate Bill of Materials are made.
- FMCG background preferred.
- Preferably graduate calibre but must have GCSE Math and English, Sciences or Engineering as a minimum.
- Science/lab experience.
- Formulation development experience would be beneficial.
- Project Management & Claims development and support experience would be beneficial.
- Packaging development in an FMCG environment would be beneficial.
