M&E Quantity Surveyor Opportunity About the Company: Our client is a well-established leader in mechanical and electrical installations, boasting a stellar reputation built over 40 years. With a turnover exceeding £50m, they operate across multiple sectors, including retail, industrial, commercial offices, healthcare, education, and residential. Their services span from concept and design through to construction and maintenance, ensuring high-quality project delivery at every stage. As they continue to expand and secure new projects, they are looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They are open to candidates at either a mid-level or senior level, offering an exciting opportunity for career growth within a thriving company. The Role: As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards. You will be involved in all aspects of cost estimation, procurement, contract management, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs. * Serve as the single point of contact for all commercial project requirements, assessing and proposing the best financial solutions. * Manage cost control throughout project phases, from pre-construction to financial close and completion. * Provide cost evaluation, procurement, and variation advice when required. * Accurately report on project costs, ensuring monthly forecasts and financial reports are delivered to the Commercial Manager. * Oversee the procurement of sub-contractor packages, ensuring their selection aligns with project requirements. * Review and manage project variations and claims. * Optimise cost-efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. * Monitor project cash flow, ensuring smooth approval of orders and invoice processing. * Prepare monthly client applications for payment and manage follow-ups to secure payments in line with progress on site. * Evaluate sub-contractor applications to ensure fair valuations in accordance with contract agreements and project progress. What We’re Looking For: * Minimum 5 years’ experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor. * Relevant qualifications (Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or related field). * Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage costs effectively. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
