ROLE: Head of Data (Analytics & Engineering)
This expanding group (4000+ employees) continues to defy their market with sustained growth and has recently embarked on a buy and build strategy following a major investment round that completed just over 2 years ago.
A brand-new role working closely with the CTO, you’ll be responsible for building and leading a small team of data engineers and analysts shaping and delivering data products that support better decision-making across the business.
Whether it’s building modern data platforms or crafting user-friendly CRM dashboards, you’ll be driving innovation in a company that’s big on insights, automation, and making things work smarter.
Head of Data – Key Responsibilities:
- Defining & Delivering Data Products: Lead the development of enterprise-level data & analytics products, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals.
- Technical Oversight: Provide expertise in data lakes, reporting platforms (e.g. PowerBI), and modern data engineering principles within a Microsoft Azure environment.
- Product Leadership: Own the roadmap, performance, and improvement of both new and existing data services.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with technology teams (digital product, infrastructure, etc.) to ensure seamless deployment and optimisation.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Inspire and develop a team of data specialists, supporting growth through hands-on coaching and agile delivery practices.
What skills you’ll need:
- Deep experience in data & analytics, including hands-on development of data platforms and reporting services.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Synapse, Databricks, PowerBI, and the wider Power Platform.
- Strong product development experience within complex environments — ideally across both legacy and modern tech stacks.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary or remote teams in an agile delivery setting.
- Strategic thinking with an interest in emerging tech like AI, automation, and intelligent systems.
