We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join the Newcastle Office. This opportunity would ideally suit someone with demonstrated Civil Engineering experience within a consultancy environment. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Degree qualified with relevant experience in a similar practice.
- A chartered (or near Chartered) status with a recognised institution i.e. ICE.
- Liaise with architects, clients and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and represent the practice in a professional and courteous way.
- Manage projects, providing support, mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Client facing role, managing own workload and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with the company’s operational procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and capability to manage design teams both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork qualities and be self-motivated.
- Experience of working in all development sectors.
- Experience in highway and drainage design with a working knowledge of UK design standards.
- Experience in using AutoCAD, Autotrack Site 3D, MicroDrainage, Flow and/or other civil engineering packages.
- Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications.
- Working knowledge of Highway Authority Sections 38 and 278 Agreements and Water Authority Sections 102, 104, 106, 116 and 185 Agreements.
- Ability to produce (or assist) engineering supporting reports for planning applications such as Flood Risk Assessment reports, Drainage Strategy and Assessments, Site Viability assessments etc.
- Full clean driving license.
