Think Accountancy & Finance are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to provide support within a a client focus business who pride themselves on integrity and inclusivity, based within the heart of St Albans. The ideal candidate will have knowladge of accruals, prepayments and already have experience assisting with the preporation of managaement accounts. The company are also willing to offer study support. Due the nature of the business, you will need to be able to keep up with sporadic tasks, stay organised, be a quick problem solver and confident in your accounting abilities. Key Responsibilities Prepare management accounts for various businesses within the group, including month-end and year-end adjustments, and provide insightful commentary on performance. Reconcile control accounts and manage inter-company accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency. Assist with the preparation of the year-end audit file and provide necessary information for auditors. Contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes, identifying areas to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Complete VAT returns on a timely basis, ensuring compliance with regulations. Key Skills & Competencies Highly proactive and capable of working autonomously. Knowladge of accruals and prepayments. AAT qualified, 2 to 3 years experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think logically. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Strong numeracy skills and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel). Experience using Sage Accounts or similar accounting software.
