Overview of Role:

In this pivotal role, you will report into the Commercial Sales Director - lead and manage a team of three, overseeing pipeline processes, tenders, and bids, ensuring all submissions are completed efficiently and strategically. You will prioritise opportunities, manage workloads, and steer the sales team towards achieving the company's ambitious goals. A key aspect of this role involves shaping and evolving Peppermint’s unique selling points (USPs) to ensure continuous innovation and a competitive edge in the market.

You will play a vital role in identifying new business opportunities across the greenfield events, venues, and sports sectors, actively driving innovation and bringing fresh ideas to the table. Additionally, your team will provide ongoing account management support to the Project Managers, ensuring seamless client relationships and service excellence. This is a high-impact, leadership position in a fast-growing company—ideal for a strategic, driven, and forward-thinking sales professional eager to shape the future of the events industry!

Core Accountabilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage the team ensuring clear performance objectives are set and regularly monitored via KPI’s and Sales targets. Developing and measuring sales plans and targets in partnership with the team. Mentor, coach and develop the team to ensure they have the necessary support to perform their role. Scheduling, prioritising and delegating work flow. Facilitating meetings & following up actions.
  • Pipeline Management & Sales Process: Leading the sales process from start to finish. Development of all outbound sales collateral (with professional support where required). Constantly driving innovation, technology and sustainability, focusing on the company’s core pillars and developing new services & offerings to help us win and retain business. Leadership of entire pitch/bid process according to deadlines. Developing business in new markets and looking for new growth opportunities. Assessing and managing commercial risk. Creating commercial deals. Negotiation with clients & prospects. Presenting regular sales & pipeline reports for the Directors & Finance Director. Generating leads. Supporting and driving forward new business development strategies. Adhoc tasks and projects as required.
  • Account Management: Supporting the Project Managers with account management support including contracting, deal re-negotiation, pre and post event planning meetings and other account management tasks. Managing client relationships. Develop and monitor budgets by event/venue. Ensuring contracts are accurate, complete & signed. Pro-active drive to improve overall margin. Ensuring minimum event margins are achieved at each event working alongside the Finance Business Partners. Coach team on best practice for managing client and contract issues. Oversee efficient handover with the Project Management teams.
