RSR are currently recruiting for experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner to work on a 12 month, full-time contract with a Police Force. The role is based across two sites in Birmingham, and will incorporate a hybrid working policy. The role is paying between £42,897 (£22.23p per hour) and £48,894 (£25.34p per hour). The role will be situated within a Police Force, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.

Role overview: The Assistant Finance Business Partner will provide support to the Finance Business Partner, by providing insightful financial analysis and the checking and challenging financial performance. The role holder will provide financial advice to ensure that WMP achieves value for money and maximises value.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with financial accountants, shared services and workforce planning to ensure that financial and workforce information is recorded and controlled in an efficient manner.
  • Completing all relevant journals and reconciliations, as well as checking and challenging submissions from the business, ensuring the production and dissemination of accurate and timely financial data.
  • Support the annual budget setting process and longer-term financial planning, via the analysis of service area budget proposals, to ensure that budgets and savings plans are robust.

Experience:

  • Experience of compiling and analysing financial data, checking and challenging performance against targets and providing professional advice and guidance regarding financial matters.
  • Experience/knowledge in all relevant statutory, regulatory and professional accounting standards.

Qualification: Part Qualified accountant - Undertaking a CCAB qualification (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) or equivalent. Knowledge and experience of using industry standard accounting systems, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office components.
