Role Overview
We are currently seeking a committed and inspiring Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Bradford from September 2025. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, you’ll join a supportive department with the resources and leadership to help you thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and rigorous Science lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
- Encourage inquiry, experimentation, and scientific thinking in all students.
- Use data and assessment to drive progress and tailor learning.
- Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for practical and theoretical work.
- Contribute to departmental planning, assessment strategies, and curriculum development.
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as science clubs, competitions, or trips.
- Maintain high standards in behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusive practice.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field)
- Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach at least one science to GCSE level
- A passion for science education and helping students succeed
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Reflective, growth-minded, and collaborative
Desirable:
- Ability to teach a science subject at A-level
- Experience teaching in UK state schools
- Willingness to lead STEM activities or school science initiatives
- Familiarity with UK exam boards and current curriculum developments
