An ambitious, fast-growing UK group with a strong purpose at its core is hiring a Head of Marketing to lead a small but growing team. The business operates across both consumer and commercial markets and is scaling nationally through a mix of organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The focus is on helping people and organisations improve the performance, sustainability and efficiency of their buildings, systems and operations – bringing innovation, technology and service together under one trusted brand.

The opportunity

Our client is looking for a Head of Marketing to take ownership of the marketing function and build the engine that powers growth. You’ll sharpen brand positioning, deliver high-quality and cost-effective lead generation across multiple audiences, and create a marketing structure that can scale across a multi-site, fast-evolving organisation.

What you’ll lead:

Lead generation & commercial impact

  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy that generates a consistent pipeline of qualified leads across consumer, trade, and business audiences.
  • Build a scalable, data-driven marketing engine that delivers measurable ROI.
  • Manage a broad channel mix covering digital, content, partnerships, field activity and events.
  • Work closely with commercial leaders to align marketing priorities with product, audience and regional goals.
  • Track and improve cost-per-lead, conversion rates and return on marketing investment.

Brand & reputation

  • Strengthen and evolve a trusted brand that unites the group’s acquired businesses under one identity.
  • Manage brand governance, consistency and quality across all channels.
  • Protect and enhance the company’s reputation through proactive communications and reputation management.

Field marketing & local activation

  • Partner with regional and branch teams to understand local market needs.
  • Provide the playbooks, assets and guidance that enable effective local activation of central campaigns.
  • Support teams to adapt national campaigns for local relevance.

Integration & governance

  • Centralise and professionalise marketing across newly acquired and legacy businesses.
  • Implement clear frameworks for brand, creative, data and campaign governance.

Technology, data & reporting

  • Optimise the marketing tech stack to drive automation and performance tracking.
  • Introduce efficient systems for campaign management, CRM integration and analytics.
  • Build transparent dashboards linking marketing activity to commercial results.

Team leadership & capability

  • Build and lead a hybrid marketing team of in-house and external specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that combines creative and analytical strengths.
  • Coach and develop the team to use data and technology effectively.

Market insight

  • Deepen understanding of key audiences and translate insights into impactful campaigns.
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach across the funnel.

Key deliverables (first 12 months)

  • A clear marketing strategy and quarterly plans for each audience segment.
  • Group-wide brand architecture and governance in place.
  • Consistent pipeline of qualified leads from multiple channels.
  • Automated marketing workflows and performance dashboards.
  • A unified, high-performing marketing team supporting both central and regional activity.

What you’ll bring

Skills & mindset

  • Strategic and commercially minded, with a strong bias for action.
  • Data-driven and comfortable with marketing performance metrics.
  • Skilled across digital, content and integrated campaign management.
  • Confident using marketing technology and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Inspiring leadership and ability to get the best from agencies, freelancers and remote teams.

Experience

  • Proven track record of leading marketing in a multi-segment or multi-site business.
  • Experience delivering measurable lead generation and linking marketing activity to revenue outcomes.
  • Success in brand integration, consolidation or transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology and data analytics.
  • Background in a purpose-driven, growing business – ideally with both B2C and B2B exposure.

Location & working pattern
