Experienced and Talented Senior Estimator required The Client Our client, a privately owned construction main contractor and established back in the 1980’s, are currently keen to resource an experienced Senior Estimator to work on single and two stage tenders. The contractor’s expertise is within the commercial, education, leisure and healthcare sectors and have a fabulous reputation for quality of work and on time completion. Senior Estimator’s role and responsibilities We have been instructed to source a Senior Estimator who will be based in their Kent office. The Senior Estimators role will be to price tenders on new build and refurbishment schemes between £5m – £20m in value. Responsibilities will include: * The Senior Estimator will manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen. * Ensure work is priced and can be let at current pricing levels. * To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process. * To identify risks and opportunities. * To price selected trades from first principles using agreed company outputs. * Present priced elements at tender settlement in comparison to supply chain returns. * To lead the supply chain enquiry process. * To conduct their role in a way which is consistent with the company’s sustainability objectives. * To complete project take–offs to the required level of detail. * To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan. * Presentation at tender settlement of an accurate, considered financial bid. * To produce a detailed control document at handover to delivery team. Senior estimator’s experience * Successful delivery of tenders on a wide range of tenders. * Knowledge of various construction methods. * Experience using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook * and Project. * Background in use of Conquest Estimating system or similar. * Capable of taking off quantities. * Controlling costs, timing and quality.
