We are delighted to partner with a global manufacturing company entering a significant growth phase. Their exciting plans include the introduction of brand-new industrial chemical processes, resulting in the use of more flammable gases that will increase the site’s risk profile. As a result, we have a newly created role for a Senior, Lead or Manager-level Process Safety Engineering professional to join the highly motivated team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the process safety function for the site, setting standards and leading the creation and implementation of the process safety management system. Once established, they will own, maintain and continuously improve this system to ensure it remains effective. They will ultimately be responsible for preventing incidents such as fires, explosions, toxic releases and equipment failures by identifying, evaluating and mitigating risks associated with manufacturing, chemical and physical processes. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, regulatory knowledge and risk management skills to develop safety strategies, assess potential hazards, influence change and ensure compliance with safety standards. Core Accountabilities: Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification (e.g., PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, FMEA, DSEAR) Safety System Design and Implementation (e.g., SIS, relief & flare systems, hazard mitigation) Regulatory Compliance (e.g., OSHA PSM, COMAH, ISO 45001, RCA, audits and inspections) Process Safety Management (e.g., PSM development, MOC, PSSR, emergency planning) Ethical Accountability (e.g., codes of practice, policies, procedures and escalation protocols) What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proven industrial experience in process safety within the pharmaceutical, oil & gas, petrochemical or chemical industries Strong knowledge of process hazard analysis techniques, safety engineering principles and regulatory frameworks such as OSHA PSM, EPA RMP and ISO standards Previous experience creating, implementing and maintaining site process safety management systems If you’re an experienced Process Safety Engineer looking to join an agile, collaborative, resourceful and customer-focused team, get in touch to register your interest and learn more.
