We are looking to recruit a Duty Qualified Social Worker in the Adults Learning Disabilities Team within Hackney. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable working environment with experienced leadership, whilst receiving regular supervision and training opportunities. The responsibilities of the Social Worker includes:

  • Work as a part of a multi-agency team providing seamless health and social care services
  • Provide direct advice and assistance when required and to offer preventative support for adults with Learning Disabilities
  • Respond to urgent matters raised on duty by using a range of resources to promote the safety and wellbeing of our service users with learning disabilities
  • Carry out an assessment/review and visit when required as a response to an emergency
  • Be the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and to be able to follow up on them to ensure the safety of our service users, including liaising with both internal and external colleagues as appropriate
  • Ensure that the risk management is adhered to in social work practice
  • Ensure that principles of the MCA Act are applied where appropriate
  • Deliver high professional standards of social care practice including: quality interventions and decision making; agreed performance management; and adherence to the Standards of Social Work England.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
