Our client close to Heathrow Airport is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fine Art Shipping Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fine art, possess strong logistics and shipping experience, and be able to ensure the safe and secure transportation of valuable artwork. The role involves coordinating all aspects of shipping, including packaging, transportation, customs documentation, and tracking of high-value pieces, while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Coordination: Work with logistics teams, couriers, and freight forwarders to arrange transportation for artworks. Oversee the entire shipping process to ensure timely and safe delivery.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including invoices, customs declarations, export/import permits, and insurance paperwork. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international shipping regulations for fine art.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, artists, galleries, and auction houses. Provide updates on shipping status and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage incoming and outgoing shipments. Update inventory records and ensure that all items are accurately recorded and tracked.
- Risk Management: Ensure artworks are insured for the correct value during shipping and mitigate any potential risks associated with the transportation process.
- Problem Solving: Quickly address any issues that may arise, such as delays, damages, or customs clearance problems. Provide solutions in a professional and efficient manner.
- Client Liaison: Offer personalized customer service to ensure client satisfaction with the shipping process. Answer inquiries related to shipping times, costs, packaging options, and delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Fine Art Shipping or Related Field: A minimum of 2 years of experience in fine art logistics, shipping, or a related field. Familiarity with the unique needs of shipping valuable, fragile, or oversized artwork is a plus.
- Packing and Handling: Understand the correct procedures required to pack and prepare fine artworks for domestic and international shipping.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to juggle multiple shipments at once, keeping track of schedules, deadlines, and documentation in a highly organized manner.
- Knowledge of International Shipping Regulations: Understanding of customs regulations, tariffs, and import/export laws for international shipments, especially those specific to fine art.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and vendors.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick to identify and resolve any shipping issues or delays, ensuring minimal disruption to the client or artwork's safety.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using shipping management software and tools. Familiarity with online tracking systems and the ability to manage logistics data.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's licence is required.

Salary: c£35K depending on experience
