We are seeking a Principal/Associate Engineer for our Building Services practice, based in our Epsom office, with a team of over 100 engineers in the LSE Region. You will work closely with bid teams to develop business opportunities, provide comprehensive bid responses, and manage project design services.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Electrical discipline, Chartered with a relevant institution, with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Ability to influence industry peers and senior management and to challenge constructively.
  • Experience in secure projects such as Defence/Nuclear is preferred.
  • High technical standing as an Electrical Building Services Engineer.
  • Extensive project experience across major multi-discipline design projects.
  • Leadership and people management skills with team management potential.
  • Good commercial awareness, business management skills, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and a professional approach to clients and colleagues.
  • Structured approach to report writing and information collation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure project opportunities, taking commercial responsibility for the Building Services team.
  • Lead bidding processes in line with business guidelines and manage project costs.
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships and manage key accounts.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and development for the team, including appraisals and personal development plans.
  • Assume full technical responsibility for project outputs, ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Lead electrical and building services design efforts, demonstrating extensive electrical design experience.
  • Develop and implement discipline-specific marketing plans and nurture a high-profile client base.

The role is based in Epsom, with a hybrid working model requiring attendance at the office, site visits, and client meetings as needed. AtkinsRéalis offers flexible working arrangements and supports diversity and work-life balance.
