Pay Rate: Β£27.50/per hour
Liquid Personnel is currently seeking a Social Worker to join the Child Protection Team of our client based in Gateshead.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to children and families in need of care and support.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
- Conduct safeguarding investigations and complete risk assessments.
- Develop outcome-focused care and protection plans tailored to individual needs.
- Work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to safeguard children.
- Ensure statutory timescales for assessments and reviews are met.
- Contribute to multi-agency meetings, including strategy discussions and child protection conferences.
- Prepare and present reports for legal and safeguarding meetings.
- Promote early intervention and preventative services to reduce the need for managed care.
- Support placement arrangements and long-term planning for children when necessary.
- Maintain professional accountability for decisions and resource allocation.
- Encourage participation of children and families in planning and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, council policies, and financial regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a Social Work England registration.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Hold a full UK licence.
- Social Work Qualification, degree or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience as a social worker within children's services.
