Lloyd Recruitment Services is looking for an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with strong skills in Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies. This is a client-facing role, so excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential. The role is well-suited to candidates from an MSP background who are confident working across a range of modern IT environments.
You will be responsible for delivering 2nd line technical support, managing cloud-based infrastructure, and supporting various IT projects.
Please note: To be considered for this position, you must have hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, particularly with escalated support tickets. A strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Handling 2nd line support requests escalated from 1st line
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Managing Microsoft 365 services such as Intune, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online
- Supporting Azure services including Azure AD, Virtual Machines, and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management tools
- Managing firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and security platforms (Duo, Meraki, Sophos)
- Collaborating with 1st and 3rd line support teams
- Assisting with cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and project rollouts
- Documenting support actions and following ITIL-aligned practices
Required skills and experience:
- Strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Experience with desktop and server troubleshooting in business environments
- Familiarity with networking and security concepts
- Experience using VMware or Hyper-V for virtualisation
- PowerShell scripting is highly desirable
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery systems like Veeam and Mimecast
- Use of RMM tools such as ConnectWise, Autotask, or N-able
- Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Certifications such as Microsoft AZ-104, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus but not essential
