HLTA (or equivalent) ASAP Full time We are working exclusively with a specialist Secondary school in Chorlton who are looking for someone to join their team as a HLTA; higher level teaching assistant from Sept 2025. The school is looking for an enthusiastic member of the support staff to join their school. The Department is very strong and the successful candidates will receive exceptional training to support them in their role. They are looking for professionals who have some experience of supporting children and have a genuine desire to support staff in delivering exceptional learning experiences for our pupils. You need experience of delivering interventions – speech and language, reading etc. There is an emphasis on delivering targeted SEND learning interventions with the ability to support intervention at universal targeted groups and specific individual levels You will also be expected to work 1-1 with students that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, as well as leading some small group sessions. The school cater for pupils who have an educational plan to receive their education in a specialist provision, due to their learning needs. The pupils are age 11-16 years old KS3/4 secondary all with EHCP plans and additional needs. Your role is to build a connection with the young people and act and a mentor and role model for the students.Due to the barriers the pupils have in the classroom, the role will entail forging strong relationships with pupils. This position would suit someone who is looking to pursue a career in education or wishing to embark on a PGCE or someone who has recent experience working as a tutor/intervention lead. The role will start in September and if successful, will be for the rest of the academic year.. · Chorlton · Position – Higher level teaching assistant (or equivalent) · Type of work – HLTA · Start date – September 2025 · Likely Duration – on going · Contract type – Temp to Perm · Full time · Minimum rate of pay – GBP120 per day · Hours – 8:30am – 4pm Monday to Friday EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS · Degree educated with a good classification, in English · High grade in English & Maths at GCSE level · A level in English Literature or Language · Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential · Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided) Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided.
