We are currently looking for a Functional Safety Engineer for our client, a manufacturer producing both single and double deck battery and fuel cell electric buses. The successful candidate will work closely with the various design teams and our supply base to ensure that we launch safe designs across our customer base. The Functional Safety Engineer will: Ensure compliance of engineering practices with company Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes. Assist Head of Vehicle Systems and Vehicle Integration in project tasks and resource allocation for timely milestone achievement. Optimize distribution of engineering resources among competing requirements, including securing grants for financial support. Identify and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and produce monthly report for Head of Vehicle Systems. Maintain strong communication with Body, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Homologation teams for design consistency. Recruit, develop, and train engineering team while planning for future talent requirements and succession in line with technological developments. The Functional Safety Engineer will have: BEng Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Previous experience in a functional safety role working in accordance with a relevant international standard. Minimum of 5 years electrical / electronic / software design experience. Evidence of ISO 26262 certification and training. Ability to conduct and review HARA, FTA and FMEA etc. Experience of Functional Safety Mgmt Systems.
