We’re currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a thriving consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. If you’re looking for a role that offers variety, career growth, and the chance to work on exciting projects across multiple sectors, this opportunity could be just what you need.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team responsible for electrical designs throughout all RIBA stages, supporting both new constructions and refurbishment projects. This role offers excellent mentoring, enabling you to develop your skills and progress towards chartership if you haven’t already.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Producing detailed electrical design drawings and calculations
- Applying relevant industry standards and regulations such as BS 7671 and Building Regulations
- Using design tools including AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation software like Electrical-OM or Amtech
- Designing custom site-specific equipment when needed
- Working closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery
- Providing expert advice on energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact
What we’re looking for:
- Ideally a degree in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, not essential though
- Experience in electrical design within a consultancy or similar environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- A proactive mindset and excellent organisation, with a passion for continuous learning
