Job Title: Technical Manager

Location: Leicestershire

Shift: Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work)

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (flexible, e.g., 07:00 – 16:00)

Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced Technical Manager to lead and enhance the technical function of a growing food manufacturing business across two sites.

This is a hands-on role, requiring a motivated and solutions-focused individual to oversee technical compliance, drive improvements, and achieve high standards. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting the business’s growth plans, which include a significant increase in turnover and achieving top-tier BRC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the site technical function, improving overall technical standards.
  • Oversee a small but growing technical team (currently 1 direct report – QA Technician).
  • Prepare the new site for BRC accreditation and maintain AA* standard at the existing site.
  • Manage third-party audits (BRC, EHO, Halal) and customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance in both high- and low-risk environments, particularly with chilled produce.
  • Manage and develop the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Collaborate with other departments to support technical responsibilities across the business.
  • Develop technical knowledge among senior management and their teams.
