This respected offshore law firm is keen to bolster its Bermuda-based dispute resolution practice with the addition of two experienced litigation lawyers. It is an opportunity to join an impressive directory-recommended team, advising international and Bermudian clients on a broad range of contentious work. The openings are for:
Commercial Litigation Lawyer (Barrister/Advocate)
Your practice will span insolvency, banking, regulatory and data protection work, as well as high-value commercial/contractual matters. You will be involved in conducting cases at various levels of court so you will need to be a proven advocate.
Trust Litigation Lawyer (Barrister or Solicitor)
You will focus on high-value and complex trust disputes in what is one of the world’s premier locations for private wealth work. It is a varied role with trust litigation at its core but with some involvement in general commercial litigation and in matrimonial matters (particularly in a trust context).
The successful candidates will join a small, friendly team with a thriving practice, that wins plaudits for the calibre of work it does, and for its outstanding client service. You can expect a competitive low tax salary and relocation package.
Requirements
You will be Commonwealth qualified with strong relevant experience. It is anticipated that the roles will suit lawyers with around 5 to 8 years’ PQE, but all applications are welcome (note that a minimum of 3 years’ PQE is required for work permit reasons). You will be technically strong with good communication skills and a desire to contribute to practice development and client management efforts. Experience of leading on your own matters is a distinct advantage.
Bermuda
Bermuda offers you the opportunity to live and work in one of the world’s most desirable locations. The island benefits from a mild year-round climate, never too cold in the winter and rarely too hot in the summer. It is famed for its picture-postcard pink sand beaches and crystal-clear ocean, but it also has plenty of history and boasts all the attractions associated with a luxury holiday destination. And if you should need a break from island life, with regular direct flights to London, New York and other parts of the US, it is particularly well connected.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.
