We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.
We’re looking for a motivated and friendly Health & Safety Apprentice to work as part of our Health & Safety Team and in line with our vision to become the Best Event Campus in Europe. Our Health & Safety Apprentice will be committed to developing their career and be equally committed to working in a fast-paced environment covering the responsibilities below:
- To assist with monitoring and auditing compliance with the SEC’s Health and Safety Policy and associated procedures.
- To assist the Health and Safety manager to carry out on-site health, safety and fire inspections during all work activities and prior to events, reporting and taking action where required.
- To support the maintenance of Health and Safety records, including staff training, Approved Contractors, Authorised Plant Operators, PPE issue, and statutory inspections.
- To support the review of the Fire Prevention Strategy including, Fire Prevention Policy and Fire Action plan.
- To support the administrative tasks for the Health and Safety Team, for example, report writing and collation, arranging meetings, drafting agendas and taking & circulating minutes.
- To maintain accident statistics and monitor and report on accidental statistics, carrying out investigation and reporting on the more serious accidents, near misses and non-medical incidents.
- To undertake and attain recognised Health and Safety Qualifications to include but not limited to NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, and other Fire Safety Training, as required.
