Are you ready to play a pivotal role in global trade? Our client is looking for an experienced Customs Clerk to join their Bradford customs team.
About the Role:
As a Customs Clerk, you’ll create and manage documentation to facilitate the legal movement of cargo across international borders. Whether handling imports or exports, you’ll liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth clearance of their consignments and establishing close relationships with a global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate customs entries for imports and exports, maintaining full compliance.
- Processing key documents such as Certificates of Origin (COO) and EUR1 forms via ICERT.
- Reviewing client documentation like commercial invoices and packing lists as part of a stringent screening process.
- Processing HMRC-related refunds
- Guaranteeing the import/export of finished products and components, ensuring the process is cost-effective and efficient
- Managing customs authorisation documentation and ensuring compliance with international transport regulations.
- Coordinating international transport operations and prioritising customs administration effectively.
Skills & Experience Required:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a customs role, with proficiency in CDS and familiarity with systems like Descartes and FCL is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Destin8/CNS and strong trade tariff expertise.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Commitment to learning and professional development within the freight industry.
