As our Design team continues to grow, we are excited to welcome a talented Electrical Engineer to join us.

As an Electrical Engineer at Energetics, you will provide technical leadership and design approval for a range of electrical infrastructure projects, from domestic and residential developments to complex commercial and multi-occupancy schemes. You will review and approve routine designs, advise on complex projects, and act as a key technical advisor to ensure all designs meet current legislation, regulations, and industry standards.

While the role is based in Hamilton, Glasgow, we are open to considering candidates located in Warrington and the surrounding areas.

Your responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer:

  • Approve electrical infrastructure designs for industrial, domestic, and multi-occupancy projects, ensuring compliance with current standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Provide expert technical support to Designers, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency across all designs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver consistent electrical design guidance and maintain a standardised departmental approach.
  • Monitor industry developments, participate in associations, and share insights to shape design strategies and introduce emerging technologies.
  • Support training and development by delivering technical updates, mentoring trainees, and contributing to post-project reviews for continuous improvement.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Significant, demonstrable experience on a range of electrical projects including:
  • Low Voltage domestic
  • Low Voltage industrial/commercial
  • High Voltage cable networks
  • Substation layouts
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable standards and guidance including ENA, G81/G88
  • Experience of using a range of IT systems including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Good knowledge of CAD software and current drawing conventions
  • Good knowledge of utilities market, including DNO / IDNO arrangements and policies
  • Experience of project contracts, costing and post project analysis
  • Qualifications:

    • Incorporated Engineer Status recognised by IET (or expected to achieve within 6 months)
