This is a high profile and highly visible Commercial Finance role for one of our great, reputable, dynamic large retail clients. Established over 20 years ago this is an established but growing mini-channel retail business going through an exciting period of change.
About the role
Turning data into actionable insight that helps inform business decisions across the trading teams, this role will support the business towards delivering against it's aims and objectives.
Working in a fast-paced environment you will demonstrate commercial judgment with confidence, recommending clear actions built on accurate analysis to identify operational efficiencies and drive profit growth.
To provide insight to allow challenge across the business's trading KPI's and investments across all areas of the trading floor.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse large data sets across the trading areas of the business to support all commercial activities by making clear recommendations from your analysis.
- Access a number of different data points to show a complete picture of performance including financial and customer.
- Bring best practice analytical processes into the finance team and help support the wider team in data analysis.
- Own the process of supplier profitability and cost price make up feeding insight into divisional teams.
- Support the buying & sourcing teams in supplier negotiations using all available data and insight to inform decision making.
- Automate key reporting requirements using power BI to standardise processes and ensure right first time reporting for the business.
- Review available external data/information to ensure the latest marketing trends are understood and available across the business.
- Perform in depth analysis on sales & margin including trial reporting, supplier profitability and promotional analysis.
- Support the budget process ensuring flow of inputs and assumptions are known and communicated across the business.
- To work with non financial stakeholders to enhance commercial awareness, challenge and improve processes and efficiency, in order to improve cost effectiveness.
