Our client is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join their expanding team in Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business who have plenty of work on and prioritise internal progression for all employees.
Requirements for this Control Systems Engineer role:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (evidence of experience required).
- Strong experience in PLC Programming, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.
- Systems, software, and hardware development experience.
- Degree in Control, Automation, or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Experience with PLC/SCADA system design and development, including safety systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (ProfiBus, Ethernet, DeviceNet).
- Experience with emulation and simulation software (advantageous).
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas as required.
Experience needed for this Control Systems Engineer position:
- Design and development of detailed layouts, mechanical designs, and wiring schematics for safety/control systems using AutoCAD.
- Hardware and software design engineering.
- Developing and writing PLC code (e.g., Allen Bradley Rockwell).
- Reviewing project specifications and determining requirements.
- Designing SCADA systems and HMIs.
- Functional design specifications and documentation for new projects.
- Testing and validating hardware/software systems.
- Participating in design and technical meetings with customers/stakeholders.
- On-site commissioning of new systems in the UK and internationally.
