Due to a significant increase in volumes and on the back of the company’s growth, the customer is now seeking an Automotive Supervisor to join the team at their Glasgow Facility. The role Working under the Automotive Manager, an Automotive Supervisor, is required to join the business to be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of fleet across the North of England and Scotland. 40 hours (8-hour shifts) Mon-Fri with plenty of overtime available at premium rates. You will take responsibility for: * Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshops across the North of England and Scotland ensuring the fleet of vehicles are well maintained, safe, reliable and cost efficient. * Supervising the team of mechanics, providing direction and support to meet operational needs and maintaining sufficient stock levels of necessary parts and supplies. * Conducting regular audits of vehicles and facilities to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards. * Supervising the team of mechanics, providing direction and support to meet operational needs. * Determine and conduct performance evaluations and produce continuous improvement plans. * Controlling costs by tracking key metrics, identifying savings opportunities, and ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines, and reviewing and authorising automotive expenses. What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following: * IMI/C&G/NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent in mechanics or similar field * Understanding of mechanical principles, vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes for large fleet vehicles. * Ability to coordinate inspections, manage physical assets, and maintain productive relationships with external service providers. * Experience leading a team of mechanics * Excellent communication skills and time management * Full UK driving license Other DESIRABLE skills include: * Strong mechanical knowledge of large commercial vehicles / HGVs * Holding a 7.5 tonne or C1 license would be advantageous but not essential. What is on offer: On offer is the chance to join a market leading Logistical and Supply Chain solutions provider who work closely with some of the world’s largest brands and companies. You would benefit from a salary from £45,000 – £50,000, this is based on a 40-hour week standard days, however with the additional overtime premium, the OTE for the role is Circa £50,000 – £55,000+ including tooling allowances, sign on bonus and fuel card / Vehicle.
