Come and join us as an Area Business Development Manager covering our Northern Region (North West, Yorkshire, North East, and Scotland) in this 12 month fixed term contract. About the Role

We are recruiting for an Area Business Development Manager role within our Distribution sales team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Our sales/commercial team is growing all the time so our hope is that this will lead to a permanent opportunity in the team, subject to performance. Covering our northern region (which includes the North West, Yorkshire, North East and Scotland), you will be promoting and selling our building products (roof, bricks, blocks and facades), managing key distributor partner relationships, and managing orders through to completion on site with clients. You will be the key account manager for our distributors, managing projects and providing quotations.

Duties include:

  • Early identification of project opportunities
  • Providing technical insight and expertise across the product catalogues for customers
  • Identifying and developing new customers, new market sectors, and promotion of our building product and system opportunities

This role will involve regular travel across the territory and therefore a company car is provided. The hours are 9 to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

About You

You will be an established sales professional with knowledge and experience of the construction/building supplies industry. You will have be equally accomplished at account management as you are with pro-active business development activities. You will have strong communication skills, with experience explaining technical specifications to customers and highlighting the benefits of the features. Your existing experience in the building supplies industry will give you a solid understanding about the dynamics of a commercial supply chain for construction (from specification through to project delivery).

You will also have:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel across the territory regularly.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Desirable: Experience of Key Account Management through Design and Distribution
  • Desirable: Experience of CRM Systems (e.g. Salesforce)
