The Role:
As the first point of contact for People Relations, you will work closely with managers at all levels across the warehouse and transport functions. You will build strong, effective relationships and provide coaching on best practices, policies, and procedures to empower managers to confidently manage the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering pragmatic, solutions-focused, and impartial guidance that reflects our values and complies with employment law.
- Lead colleague relations cases across warehouse and transport, escalating complex matters to the People Relations Lead as appropriate.
- Proactively manage and resolve cases in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and up-to-date case logs are maintained in internal systems.
- Attend complex hearings and meetings, providing expert advice and note-taking support when required.
- Contribute to HR reporting and management information, ensuring data integrity and insight.
- Participate in weekly case review meetings with managers to assess the status of live cases.
- Prepare and administer documentation for Investigations, Disciplinary, Grievances, and Appeals (IDGA), including compiling and distributing relevant packs and maintaining accurate personnel records.
- Monitor changes in employment legislation to ensure ongoing compliance, and support the regular review and updating of related policies and procedures.
- Assist in Employment Tribunal (ET) processes, including liaison with ACAS.
- Support the Colleague Relations Lead in driving policy improvements that enhance the colleague experience and align with business objectives.
- Act as a role model for effective collaboration across the wider People Team, including People Services and People Partners.
About You:
- A Proven HR generalist experience gained in an HR Advisor role, or similar role
- Strong customer focus
- Highly organised
- Excellent level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and stakeholder management
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and use own initiative
- Ability to work to deadlines and on occasion under pressure
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and HR systems
- Flexible to work other hours when required with advance notice as part of the 24/7 fulfilment centre
