Job Title : Head of Highways and Transportation
Contract Rate: £62/hour
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Overview :
As Head of Highways and Transportation, you will lead the strategic and operational management of Highways and Transportation services, ensuring high performance aligned with the local council’s vision and priorities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee a budget of £30M, lead a team of 200, and drive initiatives that improve services, ensure compliance, and foster collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership for transport services, integrating them into Council priorities.
- Oversee long-term infrastructure planning and sustainable transport strategies.
- Develop policies and programs to enhance operational efficiency and customer focus.
Operational Management
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements in highways, transportation, and flood management.
- Manage key areas, including Traffic Management, Asset Maintenance, and Public Transport.
- Deliver large-scale capital programs and monitor contractor performance.
