About Our Client: Our client suffers from Narcolepsy, which can result in sudden collapses and general fatigue throughout the day. They are looking for a PA to assist with daily tasks such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, taking medication routinely and to assist when the client is having a particularly challenging day. You will provide our client with health and social care. This is also a flatmate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you’d expect from life, like getting out and about to see friends, going to parties, going on holiday after graduation and much more!

As written by her: I have chosen to study English and Drama because they have always been my favourite subjects. I love all things musical theatre and love to watch musicals/plays/see bands playing. I enjoy going out and socialising, whether that be, going for meals, going to a pole dancing class or clubbing, so PAs who are not only prepared to, but looking forward to, supporting me with the social aspect of student life are really important. I have a good sense of humour; I do not take myself too seriously! It’s just really important to me that all care is undertaken in a discreet manner under my instruction - I just want to get it done so I can continue with whatever I’m doing; my personal needs shouldn’t ever get in the way of living life! I hope to find aerial classes that I can attend when at university and would need support to get there and a supervisor while I take part.

Weekly live-in rota: 7 days on and 7 days off or a similar arrangement.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client’s particular requirements will be provided.

Duties will include:

  • Personal care and social support
  • Work with the team to ensure information and issues arising during your shift are correctly reported and followed up

  • Encourage the student to engage in clubs/activities and societies
  • Maintain good order, appearance and behaviour
  • Assist the student with the organisation of events and extra-curricular activities

The exact duties will be agreed upon with the successful candidate by our client to ensure they make the best use of the PA's skills and talents.

About You: For this role, we are looking for a person with a good sense of humour, who is physically fit, calm, patient and caring. Additionally, they will:

  • Possess great organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative
  • A mature and responsible attitude
